What Came Next

As the deadline for bids approached, the action on Peter and Ping's property became truly exciting. As with a regular auction, propbid.io does not permit sniping (any attempt to place a bid in the last moments of an auction to foreclose the possibility of a competing bid). Although they were offering the same price and both had home inspection and finance contingencies, only one was offering a down payment of $100,000, where the other was offering $60,000. The bidder with the lower down-payment amended their inspection contingency to exclude seller concessions. Then the other bidder went to $615,000. With no further bids, the clock ran down and the seller accepted this offer.
